Kirsten Yule-Zaagman is a proud wife, mother, and law enforcement officer, currently serving with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. Born in South Africa and raised in England, her journey to the United States reflects the strength of the American Dream—one built on service, sacrifice, and purpose.
Throughout her career, Kirsten has served her community with honor, including time on patrol and as a Field Training Officer, helping mentor and guide the next generation of deputies. Her work has been featured nationally on On Patrol Live, offering a real and relatable view of policing with compassion and integrity.
Beyond the badge, Kirsten is a fierce advocate for mental health in the first responder community. She works closely with The Take My Hand Foundation, helping connect officers and emergency personnel with the life-saving resources they need. Her efforts have led to increased outreach and new policies to ensure no one in uniform has to face mental health struggles alone.
Kirsten also champions Victoria’s Voice, a national foundation focused on overdose prevention through education and advocacy—bridging the gap between law enforcement and public health.
As Mrs. Tennessee America 2025, she uses her platform to show that service can take many forms, and that women—whether in uniform or wearing a crown—can lead with both strength and grace. She hopes to inspire her daughter, and girls everywhere, to believe they are capable of anything.
